Question How to store a blackberry battery? - 06-13-2006, 09:35 PM

I have the 8700. But I'm not going to be using it for a while. I want to store it, but I don't want to mess up the battery. It's fully charged right now.

What's the best way to store it:

Should I store it fully charged or let the battery deplete then store it away?

Thanks,
Jonathan

With LiIon batteries, you don't want either to be the case...and particularly not an empty battery.

While they don't create "memory" or anything like that, it does hurt the battery to be depleted completely.

I'd shoot for 50%-ish...basically somewhere in the middle. Your battery should be fine.

My battery use to last 3-4 days, but now it is barerly making a whole day. I have drained it completely a couple of times. Do you think that is why? I don't think I have any of the softwares mentioned in the thread

I doubt it really hurt it if you only drained it a couple of times. How long have you had the battery?
