Question Is it possible to browse while on a voice call? - 06-19-2006, 04:34 AM

8700c/ Cingular Blue. Blackberry unlimited data plan.

I can SMS, but no surfing, emailing or browsing while on a voice call. Is this the nature of the device? Cingular? Blue?

Thanks in advance for reading.

Wirelessly posted (7105t: BlackBerry7100/4.0.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)

No you cannot be on a voice call and surf the web or send emails. Voice calls, emails, and the web browser use grps and sending an sms uses gsm. Therefore, you can send an sms while in a voice call or receive a sms while on a voice call.

Not on an 8700 and not with Cingular yet. Some time in the not so distant future though....

Not until the next gen- UMTS. Then we will be able to do voice and data at the same time. EVDO next revision same thing. This will be a major breakthrough.
