Have any do it your selfers found an outlet for the replacement screen for the 8700?

My unit needs to be replaced. I disassembled mine and the screen assembly is simple enough to remove from the PC board, there is one strip connector at the upper left of the screen assembly. The screen unit is held in place by 4 plastic clips.

My screen quit illuminating. A drink spilled on the unit. I disassembled to clean everything and there is a two conductor pc strip connector that is ruined and cannot be repaired.

I purchased this unit 3rd party so I can't go to T-Mobile for warranty, but may try RIM.

I asked T-mobile if they sell refurrbs, I guess that's not their policy.

In the Interum, back to the 7290

We have not source any parts for this model (8700g) as of yet.

We only have housings for 8700c which is totally different from your unit.
