Question BB 8700 essential apps for YOU - 06-30-2006, 10:59 PM

I just wanted to find out each persons essential apps list on their Blackberry.

Currently I have Google Maps and 411. I have trialed IM+ and now am checking out Verichat on a trial basis. Not sure which chat client I will go with here. I like the one time fee for IM+ but like the feature set within Verichat too.

I just got the device so I don't have as many apps as some of you. What apps do you have on your device that you use the most? Oh and if you can add if the app is free or if you have to pay for it I would appreciate the knowledge.

Thanks for posting in advance.

If you go down to the "Aftermarket Software" forums and check out the sticky "Updated Killer Apps" you will find most of the apps we use. Alot fo good stuff there and all free!

Some of mine:

Opera-Mini
Blackberry Messenger
Google Talk
Google Maps
BBLight
BBtoday (buggy)

and uh...hehe...

Default Actually I have looked at those threads - 06-30-2006, 11:06 PM

NJ, I have read them. I was just interested in personal opinions from the members here on what they use. After all the Killer Apps can't be the only apps that are available. If I am wrong, sorry.

Yes, the first thread I gave the link to asked the same question - "what apps do you have".

Just Opera Mini and BBTetris here.

Mini is definitely in the "killer" category. Renders pages better than default browser and pre-processes to save bandwidth and money. Small, fast, neat. Recommended.

Does your version of pacman use the full screen on the 8700? If so, where did you get it please?

The pacman I have is from www.berrygames.com. I didn't pay for it but its a full version. Do a search on the forum and you'll find a link to the one I have.

It seems that Berry Games has been hijacked by the Latin Society of some university.

I have tried to download Opera Mini but I get an error after it tries to start downloading.
It says something like a cod error.

I tried the BB browser and got an unexpected data error
anyone know why I cant download the browser?
Thanks

Google Maps, usefuul for Driving directions.
BES Server, two way reconciliation of corporate email. plus OTA replication of PIM data! Priceless.

An ICA client would be nice!

In no particular order of preference:

1. CryptMagic (trialware)
2. MSDict Concise Oxford English Dictionary (trialware)
3. MSDict Concise Oxford Spanish Dictionary (trialware)
4. Opera Mini (freeware)
5. Google Maps (freeware)
6. FreeNews (trialware)

Since I come from years of using Palms, many of my apps on my BB are to replace what I'm used to.

CryptMagic (since eWallet is not on a BB platform - as yet)
VeriChat

Avantgo

also,
Google Maps
Opera Mini
Beiks Medical dictionaries
Berry 411
