Default Comments on Screenpatronas film - 07-02-2006, 01:22 PM

Have a 8700c and bought a set of film off ebay. Easy enough to apply following the directions. The problem is that at the top, I did not want to cover up the 3 earpiece holes, so the top of the film is set right under them. At the bottom, particularly on the right and left edges, the film has to cover a bit of the raised silver trim, and because of the trim being higher than the screen itself, the seal isn't totally flat.

I've used it on the 8700c for about 1 month now, and the corners haven't lifted, although I see there's airspace around the bottom trim ring areas. So far so good.

I don't know why there isn't a screen protector that covers just the screen and cut for the right size.

I am using them now on my 8700c and the fit is perfect. If you don't get it on exactly straight, it will cover a bit of the silver trim on one side.

If you have it covering the earpiece holes or the silver trim all around, you may have a set for the wrong product.

What egale said. I have been very happy with this product thus far. Perhaps the intended fit is too perfect as it allows for nearly zero room for error during alignment. Even so, highly recommended.

Nice thread hijack Javo. :(

To the question - it sounds like you either have the wrong style (8700c is different than g) or you put it on upside down.

I LOVE my Screen Patronus.

I just bought the ScreenPatronus for my 8700g and was ridiculously impressed by how fast and easy the install was. I was expecting it to be a nightmare but it went quite well and, when the screen is clean, you can't even tell there's a protector on it. I will say the screen protector does hold more noticeable smudges and fingerprints then the naked screen does but I guess that's a testament to why I need this.

I'll also mention that i bought the ScreenPatronus thanks to lgreenberg's review and 5 berry rating and couldn't be happier.

JAVOedge - If you're going to hijeck this thread with nothing more than another ad then why not reply to the thread slamming your product? http://www.blackberryforums.com/show...ght=javoscreen

ScreenPatronus for the 8700r has proved to be as close to a perfect product as I could hope to find. In other words, I can't think of any practical way to improve it.

I think you have it upside-down. I did the same thing.

The nice ebay seller I got my 8700 from included some ScreenPatronus with my phone. I just applied one a day or two ago and it is a dramatic improvement over the trim-to-fit PDA screen protector that was on the phone when it arrived.
There is a hole cut out for your ear piece, so I guess if applied upside down it could get covered up accidentally.
I am quite pleased, however, with this product and can see why lgreenburg would give it a 5 berry rating.
Perhaps the OP could take another stab at applying the screen protector and let us know the results?
