There are many threads hear outlining exactly this. Search and read up on Verichat, IM+, Google Talk, etc ...

Any instant messaging app that I've found for the bb for instant messaging that includes MSN has a fee, whether it is one time or yearly.T-Mobile has an instant messaging program are included on its bb devices which include aim, yahoo, MSN, and icq.

Then I got news for you, you bought the wrong device for your needs. Do a search for eMSN. Regardless your BB is useless for such apps without a BlackBerry Data Plan. May want to do a bit more homework next time before you purchase.

Google Talk for BlackBerry is a free download and can be configured to run multiple IM protocols. I have mine active for my MSN and Yahoo contacts. I beleive it will also work for ICQ and AIM.

I have a data plan, what the hell you talking about?? I just thought it should come with msn and other messanger apps, not have to pay $60 for it.

well as said there is emsn and google talk that can be configured for msn. But im not sure how good solutions they are considering there free and people are still managing to sell services. Or if you can convince your friends to move to google talk then all the better.

I will test my web hosting company's claims of unlimited webspace and bandwidth. Ideas?

Default Cingular and IM - 07-11-2006, 04:19 PM

Cingular offers Yahoo! or MSN with the data plan through their Cingular WAP browser; haven't tried it yet...but it's available (along with other Chat/IM options).

QuickIM has a one time license fee and is an MSN only client. As noted eMSN and MiM are both free and clunky FWIW, then again you get what you pay for.

Using Jabber? I'm still struggling to find a Jabber gateway for MSN that's up most of the time and dopesn't lead to 'command failed' messages that lock up Google Talk completely

Any suggestions?
