Default Firewalls and Adware - 07-11-2006, 05:43 PM

Can someone explain to me if:

1. they have their firewall set to ENABLE
2. If so, why?
3. Is there any way to get rid of all the junk email, other then setting the filters from the webclient that I use. Is there an adware or similar product for blackberry?

Thanks

  1. Yup, my firewall is enabled.
  2. Its more of a outbound proxy than a firewall. It prompts you if applications attempt to make unusual outbound connects.
  3. You can create email filters either on the BlackBerry on via the web client. The BlackBerry gets everything you send to it. Setup spam filters before it gets to the BlackBerry to stop the junk. Some people have Gmail collect the mail from all their account and then send it to the BlackBerry. Gmail does a good jo of filtering out just without you having to do anything. Nope, no adware programs for the BlackBerry that I am aware.
