Exclamation 8703e Sprint and Yahoo Messenger - 10-13-2006, 02:44 PM

Hello All,

I am aware of the issues with Yahoo Messenger and Cingular but I am getting the same thing on my 8703e on the sprint network. After installation, I get the message that I need to go to the blackberry website to activate YM.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Jim

I also got it to work by following the directions in the other post. What I don't get though is that it is supposed to work just fine. I spoke to tech support (sprint) for almost 2 hours and they could not figure it out. I performed the procedure mentioned above while I was on the phone with them...

Thanks again to everyone for their help and assistance.

Glad you got it to work finally. Forget Sprint they wont support 3rd party apps such as YIM. Once I was told that from Sprint I knew I was just going to have to do this on my own. I knew it would work once the service book was loaded. Sprints reply was im sorry I dont know.

enjoy,

You got that right Braz!!!!! Sprint tech support only works when it's a Sprint issue and not a 3rd party issue. I got my 8703 yesterday and couldn't get my Yahoo IM to install for shit until I read this forum. Thanks allot guys! You got my support!!!!!!!
