Default Modem Connection Problem... - 10-18-2006, 07:52 AM

Hello,
I have an 8707v which I wish to use as a tethered modem.
I've followed all the instructions and, initially, had the connection going as far as registering my computer on the network.
However, on changing the access point in the initialisation settings, I now get a hardware failure message on the dialup and cannot query the modem in the device manager.
I have installed the Blackberry software on another machine and have the same problem, leading me to think there is some issue with the modem function in the Blackberry itself.
It is Vodafone UK I'm trying to connect to. I've scoured the forums and see that a few people have had similar problems, but I can't seem to find any definitive solution.

Any help much appreciated, thank you in advance.

You have to have the Blackberry Desktop running to use the modem feature.. Go into the test for the modem to query for status.

Default Modem Drivers Loaded? - 10-21-2006, 07:23 PM

Make sure that the Modem Drivers were loaded onto you computer. When I installed Desktop Mgr, a new MODEM on COM 12 was installed. Also make sure your modem initialization string is correct under advanced options.
