so i got to test the new 4.2 beta for a small price. lol. well no price. just alot of paper work and time. as far as i can tell its almost the same as the pearls os. i did notice though that in the beat version you can use the voice dial feature. sucks but i dont use that anyways.

What OS did you test it on? There's been a lot of talk of the 8700 os 4.2 and not much love for the 7130c/g.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Did you test on the 8700g? I am more interested to know if I can transfer word/excel/pdf/jpg to bb 8700g thru usb

Does the voice dial work with just an OS upgrade?

no voice idal is not available to uyse in the beta version. theres not much info to give due to its basically the same as 4.1 but added features. like the media folder and the picture caller id. basically the same as the pearl os. also for everyone tmobile will make the 8700g a myfaves phone but there comeing out with a 8705 that will have the 4.2 preinstalled.

for ever one that is emailing me asking for copys of 4.2 i cant release it. my wife would loose her job and could face lawsuits. so please dont ask

I'm calling major BS on this post. You don't have 4.2 on your 8700, you are so full of it your eyes are brown.

That will most likely be available on the 8705g when Tmo releases it. Word is in time for the Holiday Season.

listen you can call bs if you want i have it. ill even post screen shots from my bb. my faves will be available on all 8700 when you install 4.2. the 8705g will come preinstalled with 4.2. beta was released to many tester so we can work the bugs out. i started this post to just tell everyone what it is like. it the same as the pearl os. the 8705 will be out before xmass because tm,obile wants the money and will generate alot of money for that reason. i dont understand why we have to always prove things. this is nuts. why is it so hard to believe that beta testers exist? they have beta tester for a reason. same reason microsoft has beta testers. im testing office 2007, windows vista and the new internet explorer for microsoft. you find that hard to believe?

No OS updates are automatically updates. When it comes out you will see the several dozen "8700 update question" threads. There are tons of threads about upgrading. Nothing on a BB is automatic.
