Hello and welcome.

This has only been asked a million times; not a billion times

Please check in the dedicated Ringtones, Themes and Wallpapers forum on the most popular ways to get ringtones from your desktop to your BB.

Good luck!

Rock solid OS
Outstanding keyboard and simple to use

It's not a Treo

Seriously - if ringtones are that important, why are you looking at a high-end e-mail centric device????

(Yes, you can make your own ringtones). Create them, then upload them to a website and browse to them from the BlackBerry.

well when i already have a high end device you get a custome to things like home made ringtones, and if i do go with the blackberry i will be take a tech cut with there being no video let alone camera, no touch screen, and mp3 player, but i just want something a little easier to operate, but i hate poly ringtones so mp3s are a must for me

A BlackBerry may be the wrong device for you.

The 8100 does have a camera and an MP3 player. It is much more of a consumer gadget rather than the traditional business based BlackBerry.

sounds like you need to keep what you have now. the BB is as stated by
NJBlackBerry , an email thingy not a camera thingy

If you need an MP3 player and a camera (I know you said it wasn't important, but you brought it up) then stick with the Treo. If you want a more simple device, and you must get a BlackBerry Data Plan along with it, then consider a BlackBerry. If you feel you will be giving up technology, then do not do it. Stick with the Treo.

If you do you will never become addicted to this web site and will miss all the information and other things to talk about, dump the Treo

You already have a BlackBerry Data Plan?

That is a BlackBerry specific plan which supercedes any data plan or anything else.

Without a BlackBerry Data Plan all you have is voice and SMS on a BlackBerry.

A normal data plan does nothing on a BB since it will not allow you to connect to the BlackBerry data network.

Dude, keep in mind you are asking a blackberry forum to see if you should ditch your treo and get a blackberry. i would go on howards forums or even BG's new site. forums.boygeniusreport.com

YMMV but I expect my "high end device" to be rock solid. The whistles and bells don't really matter much to me.

Well, I say that but I do have custom ringtones and custom wallpaper along with the Zen theme on my 8700c... However, if the 8700c wasn't reliable I wouldn't be using it in the first place.
