Default Travelling with Blackberry as GPS device ?? - 11-03-2006, 10:11 PM

First post and I'm tech-challenged so please be gentle

I'm travelling to Chile (incl. Easter Island) and Peru (incl. the jungle) next month, and am trying to figure out if I can set up my BB to use as a GPS device. I've verified with Rogers I can roam there, but don't know what I'd need to buy/install for GPS.

(I did search but didn't find anything directly helpful; hence the post here.)

Thanks in advance for any advice..

See my GPS tips page. Also check out TeleNav -- Always Find Your Way to see if that might have maps. You will need a BT puck. Watch out though these maps suck data and on Rodgers that's not unlimited.

Just try it then. You can uninstall it. They have been very good to work with for me.

Hi Stinsonddog!!

Question about Wayfinder that I have been using for a little while now!
On your GPS Tip page you talk about a new version (you can adjust volume and the level of prompts)... Where do I get that? I am at version 6.3.21 and when I go to dowload the software, it is still dated August 30th.... So obviously not the the new version you are discribing!

Thanks for the help.. And you are right.. In my opinion one of the best GPS software out there..

Cheers.

Try downloading WayFinder again. I installed it on Monday and it’s version 6.5.6.

Your downloading OTA right?

Because I just tried to download their PC version and it is still at version 6.3.21...

Cheers
