Default make my own ringtones? - 11-12-2006, 11:43 AM

I'm sure this topic has been addressed, but I couldn't find an answer when I searched.

Are there any shareware programs that let you make your own ringtones?
I already have audio editing software; I just need a way to download the ringtones to my 8700c.

any ideas?

MP3 Ringtones must be downloaded through the Browser so you must get them hosted on a Website of some sort. Here's one method:

You can attach them in an email to yourself, host them on a web site, or use a wap uploader like www.coolservice.dk

When I send myself an MP3 attachement I cannot open it on my BlackBerry.

www.coolservice.dk works really well though!

Last week, I was eligible for my rebate, so as soon as I sent the form in, I dumped my data plan (wasn't using the browser hardly at all).

So now I learn that I have to use the browser to download my own ringtones? Is there no way to USB them from my computer?

Your only hope would be a third party app if it even exists. For that, search the "Aftermarket Software" forum. Otherwise, you can not transfer them via USB or bluetooth.

Making the ringtone is easy--I have Steinberg Wavelab, as well as Sony Soundforge, both mastering and editing programs for audio pros. I've already got a big batch of home-edited ringtones (my own music) that I'd downloaded to my razr.

What I need is a program that will let me put it in my 8700c via USB.
