Question While On Phone Call......... - 11-13-2006, 05:10 PM

Ok, you know if you are on a phone call and you click the exit out button, it allows you to continue talking while navigating through other parts of the phone. Well if you are checking voice mail or trying to do anything that required entering a number, it does not allow you to unless you go back into the phone menu. Anyone know a way around that? For example if I'm checking voice mail and I get out of the phone menu to do something else, how can I still delete the messages, etc without having to go back into the phone menu to push "7" ?

Also, does the phone HAVE to send you a message everytime you receive a voicemail or can it just simply show the voicemail icon? Does it need to actually send a message to your inbox, or can you change that?

Thanks in advance!

No way to change that unfortunatly. If you are navigating through some application other than the Phone app any input will be processed by that application. For example, if you are composing a memo while talking on the phone there would be no way for the BlackBerry to know which keypresses are intended for the Memopad application and which were intended for the Phone application.

I've seen a lot of posts about this over the past two weeks. So far I've not heard of anyone finding a way to disable that.

Also, what about when someone gives you a number like 1-800-CALL-NOW.

How do you know what numbers to dial for those letters, since its not a convential number pad where it shows you?

Hold the alt key while pressing the letters you want to dial by typing in the actual word.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

No way to change the 1st Q and as stated above you just enter the letters and dial away
