Default A few questions about the 8703e... - 11-14-2006, 02:18 AM

I have had it with the Moto Q's battery life so I am thinking an 8703e.

I have a few newbie questions before I jump for it:

1. Is the battery life better than the Q? I was getting like 7 hours out of a charge.

2. Can I play MP3's on the 8703e?

3. Can I do plain old regular txt messaging with Verizon as my carrier?

4. I don't want a data plan, I only want it for the qwerty keyboard and Music playing/ calendar functions. Can I disconnect from the email service so it doesn't go online or is that not an option?

Reason I am going with a smartphone is that the only other qwerty phone is the vx9800 and its as much as a Blackberry with my new every two discount.

Thanks for the help,

Rob

BB's, IMO, are pointless without the data plan.

BB has no real storage and no expandability, unless you get the BB Peral.

No SMS without a data plan.....not 100% on this but I am pretty sure.

If you don't have a data plan there will be no email.

1st BB, 7520 with Nextel
2nd BB, 8703e with Sprint (current)

Made the mistake and tried a treo 700p......

There is definitely SMS without a data plan, as VZW completely screwed me when I went from the Treo to 7130e... they did not update my data package to the BB package, so I got charged for data usage for about 2 weeks. But back to the point... SMS is separate from the data.

If you don't want email, and MP3s are a requirement for you; I would say stick with the Q.

it's the right time to crash, is it not?

8330 Verizon
