Default No ring after receiving a bb instant message? - 11-14-2006, 03:23 PM

On a Sprint 8703e, I do not get any ring or vibe after receiving a new instant bb message. I tried changing the profile and set everything to vibrate and tone. I get the screen notification but no ring/vibe/led. I even tried to pull the battery out for 30 seconds. Anyone got any idea? Thanks!

I do not get any sound or vibration either...just that little notification icon in the upper left hand section of the screen on my 8703e. I have not tried to enable any sound or notification...just haven't thought about it. But I too would be interested to know if that is possible.

Hmm interesting you sur you have a custom porfilr set up It. Ar you trying to play a sound you downloaded or midi sequence? The reson I ask is soim souns that have been downloaded wil play as low static or no sound you could re download the file. Or is this a sound that came with ther BB os distibution for sprint? It sound like a software issue.

There is no ringtone, no vibration, no led flashing either. I would assume that "Messenger - New Message" under profile is the one for new BB messenger message. It is set to Tone + Vibrate to a build in tone and high volume. Just to be safe, also set everything else in the profile to tone + vibrate. Still no indication of a new message other than the little icon on the top left of the screen showing up.

Are you guys on "Available" mode? I'm asking because when I'm "Unavailable", I do not get any notification when I receive BB Messenger msgs... but then again I'm on 8700g. Might be different....
