Question volume controls on 8700f - 12-14-2006, 06:32 AM

Is there any way to mute an 8700f when the audio player plays a tune so it plays but you don't hear the tune?

A lot of the tunes/sounds etc are too loud to be downloaded when in the office/on a train etc and people around get annoyed!!!

I have an 8700c and I don't know how to adjust the volume when playing mp3's.

Also when they finally implement the playing of .wav files in email how could you control the volume and/or switch from speaker to the earphone. I don't want everyone around listening to my voicemail.

1-Set your ring-tone volume in your profiles. If you're playing a ring-tone from a website, just quickly hit your red key, you will go to home screen, re-open your browser and you will be at the music player app where you save the file or close it. Not a good option, but it works.

2- Hard to tell the answer to that, it hasn't happened yet.

I don't see any "music player app".

you won't see it until you are playing a ringtone from your browser.

I see that but I can only "Play", "Stop" and bring up a menu.

No Volume controls.

Exactly. there are none. I never said there were volume controls on the player, but stated a way to kill the sound, which I realize was not an answer to your question.

I guess BB OS 4.2 will address this issue?

Your guess is as good as mine... just a wild guess.

It's not out yet, so I don't know. There are a couple of people around here who are using a BETA of 4.2 who might know.
