Default Download Google Maps - 12-14-2006, 11:32 AM

Is google maps for BlackBerry available as a download to my PC? I am unable to download it through the website and want to try to use Application loader instead.

Unhappy Google maps installed - now other images not displaying - 12-21-2006, 02:54 PM

I installed google maps, and now many images in other applications/browser pagers are not displaying. For example, the nice radar images I used to see in weather underground are now replaced by a line box with a little icon of the blackberry in it and some text (appropriate text for the image). Everything was working fine until I installed google maps on my 8700c. Same thing for a coworker, who uninstalled google maps and his graphics still didn't come back. Any ideas?

Google maps shouldn't be affecting your browser. Did you do the battery pull after installing or uninstalling the maps app?

Google maps does require a reboot to finish. also the program Blackberry maps is another that also supports a GPS pod. I have both on my 8700c and they work great. I use the Blackberry version with the GPS.

It's available from Blackberry.com and loads via the USB cable.

Any way of getting around IT policies......whenever I install any app, BB says invalid licence.....seems like our IT dept is stopping installation of any third party apps....

Google Maps nor Berry 411 installs.

Yes, I have done the battery pull then, and several times since. A couple of days later, the graphics did start working (without me doing anything specific to my knowledge), and they showed up for a couple of weeks. This week I viewed a jpg attachment to an email, and the same problem came back. So - I know it's not specific to Google maps, but it is some sort of issue with the Blackberry. This has unfortunately been confirmed with another coworker's 8700c - he ran into the exact same problems. Now all we see in wunderground is image boxes instead of the radar and other images.
