Angry How does the browser work? Noob question - 12-24-2006, 10:07 AM

Hey guys,

I'm new to the forums, I've been reading these forums for the past couple of days because I am high considering getting the Blackberry 8700g for T-Mobile. There's so much information here, it's amazing.

Newb question: How does browsing work on the blackberry? There's only the scroller on the side but that is too restrictive to be a mouse for webpages. How do you get to links that are all over the page consider the side tracker only goes up and down?

All information would be grateful. Thank you.

Various option keys work with the 8700. R= reload alt+ scroll wheel will move the cursor sidways. Scroll wheel will move up and down. Enter will exicute the highlighted item. There are many others you can find in the instructions pages on the forum.

Hmm...that sounds so restricted and pretty frustrating to use...do you guys use it with ease, or does it get annoying?

I like to push the space bar to go 'page down' and the hit 't' to go to the top. If I need to hit a link I just use the scroll wheel until it is selected then I click the wheel in.

I've come from the world of ppc touchscreens and I find it to be very natural and easy.

Indeed. It's extremely easy to get used to.
