Default Red LED on missed calls - 12-25-2006, 08:25 AM

Hi all, I think that I lost that feature (maybe never had). When I miss a call, I would like to have the red led flashing, just like incoming email. How can I do that?

I have latest OS (Cingular release).

Best Regards,
Jaime

Edit the profile for it and change the repeat notification to LED.

It won't stay red for ever. After a few minutes it goes back to green or stops blinking all together depending on your settings.

Try setting the option and make sure you save then do a reboot or pull the battery.

Try to log your missed call

Phone --> Options-> Call Logging --> Selected Missed Call.

Whenever I miss a call, it will log it in my all messages folder and the red light blinks for a while. It will return back to green in few minutes.

You went to Profiles >selected one,> then clicked edit,> went to "Phone" > and changed "repeat notification to "LED flashing", and it didn't work?

Sounds like it needs a repair to me.

Sometimes I lose the green status LED and the red email LED when using IM+. Not sure why it does this but after I open my inbox then close back out the LED's come back on.

Somehow is fixed now. I can't reproduce the steps to fix it. I hope it won't happen again!

Best,
Jaime

New here folks - thanks for the info over past 2+ months. As is typical, not much to contribute thus far. Most questions I had were already answered or addressed here, and actions on the 8703e are easily figured out with time.

LED knowledge:
- Log missed phone calls as mentioned, then rely on message settings in addition to missed phone call pop-up
- Set repeat to LED flashing (holstered and/or unholstered)

LED remains red if new message comes in, until you: open a previously unread message via BB (not just the new one), -OR- you take action on latop/desktop e-mail (Notes via BES in my case).

Read marks do not sync up until a push/pull is required, or you manually Reconcile; meaning your BB LED could remain red if reading e-mail on desktop, and no new activity. With time, all sync up just fine. ie. Sending a e-mail via desktop will force sync, and turn LED green regardless of what was read on BB or desktop.

The LED color has proven predictable for me thus far, and and in alignment with profile settings. I only have one e-mail account though, and see room for conflict if you have more than one - not sure how LED would be managed.
