Thumbs down Voicemail Notification - 01-08-2007, 05:21 PM

I called Verizon and asked if theres any way to disable the SMS message that says " 1 NEW VOICEMAIL " that you have to manually delete everytime after you listen to the message. They said they could do it from their end, so we tried. It worked, but the problem is then you dont even get the initial voice mail notification so you have no idea when you really do have a message. So it seems you either have no idea, or need to know (3) times.

That is rediculous.

Anybody have a resolution?

P.S. Sorry if this has been addressed but I have found no answer!

This is an 8703e on Verizon.

Get Verizon to upgrade their voicemail system to something that doesn't rely on SMS notifications?

I think most, if not all, carriers use SMS for voicemail notification.

Don't all US carriers use SMS as their voicemail notification method?
