Question Game files not loading?? only .alx will work..but .jad & .jar why?? - 02-14-2007, 10:32 AM

Hello,

I have a 8700r... I do not have a data connection on the device currently. I tried downloading some games that are in .jad & .jar and when I try and load them via desktop manager I get an error and indicating syntax error? Not sure why but .alx games will work via desktop manger. I am using the o/s 4.1.0351 (platform 2.0.0143)

Thank you to all for your help.

jar and jad file are for Over The Air downloads, via your browser, which you can't use until you get a Blackberry Data Plan

Hi
I am having the same trouble with my 8707. I tried downloading a .jar file from the internet to my handheld, no luck My phone put a '?' on the .jar file so it seems that it doesn't recognise .jar.

What is a Over The Air download? Is it about using a phone browser?
Thanks

this should be easier. There's an application for the blackberry it comes with an .alx and .cod files. Any way to install these without the the data cable?

I've tried opening them with emai them and have tried accessing them over the web. What is stupid is that the BB 8700g won't recongnize the file type in email.

kinda weak of the BB.
