Default HTTP Error 403 Forbidden on 8700C - 03-14-2007, 09:21 PM

I belong to a listserv, and when I try to log on to the site via the Internet, something that I can do easily from my IExplorer in Windows, I always get the HTTP error in the heading of this message. It says I am not authorized to view this page. When I press "details" it says, Access Denied, (squid/2.5STABLE}}. It is /not/ an https site. It is a site in which you log in with your email address and password and then you're on the listserv.

All other sites work seamlessly.

About a year ago I called Cingular, who called Blackberry, and a rep there said he couldn't log on to this site, either, from his Blackberry--got the same error message before getting to the sign on screen. I have since upgraded the device software to the latest Cingular version 4.1.0.377, and use the Blackberry browser.

Is there a workaround to this?

Thanks.

Ken

Answering my own post.

I just found the solution, if not the answer, to the question.

I decided to DL the Opera Minibrowser--didn't even know it existed until I saw someone here refer to it. Opera goes to the site without any problem. So I assume the problem is with the Blackberry browser. Or does the BB browser access the Internet differently than does Opera? I don't have BES.

BTW, I think I like the Opera browser better.
