Default Stiff Click Wheel - 04-24-2007, 01:12 PM

Hi
I have a new 8700v (my first BB) and Im not sure if its just me, but it seems very heavy to press the click wheel in.

I thought it would be light to click (ie press in to use the button function)

is there any way of lightening the click.?

I find myself using keyboard shortcuts as much as possible to avoid it.

Often the clicking IN causes me to roll the wheel slighlty and change the option Im trying to click.

If I took it apart can I do something? lubricate it with vaseline or light oil? is it faulty?

any advice appreciated
Cheers
Karim

Not a bad idea, shortcuts are quicker anyway.

NO NO NO. Don't put any vaseline or oil on it.

My best advice:
1) Return the unit immediately to the retailer where you purchased it. ASK to see another unit to test it's clicking pressure;
2) If not able to return, I am betting the clicking will ease up after a short while with alot of use. Keep using it and try to break it in well.

I got the 8703e from Sprint about a week ago. The wheel was a lot stiffer than I remember my 8700c being, but after about a week of use, it eased up a bit. I think you just need to break it in.
