I did a successful migration from TMobile OS 4.1.0.346 and everything went smooth. I love the new look of the Vodafone Theme which Basically has a Summary window of Voice Mails, Call Logs, Emails, SMS Messages, and Calendar. So far no bugs on the new 4.2 OS from Bharti. Although most buttons are delayed when pushed, for example when I hang up on a caller it takes a couple of seconds to end the call.

Pros:

- 4.2 OS now has the ability to send/receive ringtones/images via Bluetooth and Dekstop Manager

- 4.2 OS comes with a Set Up Wizard for rookie Crackberry users

- Comes with a few more new business-style ringtones which I love

Cons:

- Slow reboot times up to 5 minutes on my 8700g (cold & soft)

- Button delays when pushed

That is all for now, I will update you guys if somethings comes up.

I have attached a few screenshots for you guys to take a look at.

Default Shortcuts not working - 05-16-2007, 08:22 AM

Any idea why the BB shortcuts are not working anymore with the Zen Theme or any other theme? I also want dialling from home screen enabled.

This used to work with OS 4.1

I've got a question...is this the same as the one from Optus or Venezuela??? I remember having to downgrade 3 times due to problems with the response time and the equipment was also missing connectivity with the email server.

It’s not supposed to affect connectivity...but it did on my part.

Any ideas??

It's not even supposed to HAVE connectivity with anything but BIS/BES.

This is 4.2.1.91. Optus was 4.2.1.85

That's what I mean, that the BB presented issues with the BIS connection and browser.

But I guess I'm just unlucky!!

Any idea when US carriers will release this update??

Regards.

Default Composer font size - 05-17-2007, 10:19 AM

Hello there,

When ever I compose a mail from my blackberry 8700 the recepient receives the email in "Times New Roman" size 10. Is there any way I can change the font type and size?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Regards
Allen

While it's not related to the 4.2.1 software; no there is no way to change it.

Emails sent from a BlackBerry are in plain text, meaning there is no font styling or families associated with the text. The client viewing it (Outlook for example) will have a default font configured to display text messages. In the majority of cases this is times new roman.

For those who have upgraded to Software v4.2.1.141, what are the advantages over v4.2.1.66? Any compelling reasons to upgrade?

For accuracy's sake, this version, when compared to the apps version you are listing as 4.2.1.66, is actually 4.2.1.91

That's the only drawback from the 4.2.1.66 that I've seen. And since it's an issue with opera, I can hardly fault the OS.

Working fine here, no noticeable differences between this and the other previous one.

So I have been running this for a day, and it seems to work pretty well except I realized that it is not giving me an audible notifier when email comes in. I went through and made sure the settings were set correctly, rebooted, etc.

Other notifiers are working correctly like google talk...

very strange, if anyone has any ideas, let me know...

*edit* started working this morning... no idea why
