Default 8703e Hearing Problem - 05-14-2007, 01:08 AM

Hey Guys,
I think I might be an idiot. I cannot hear out of my phone unless I have it on speaker phone or I have my headset plugged in. Is there like a hands free mode button or something that I hit by accident.

Thank you in advance for any insight.

Unless you internal speaker has gone bad (which is possible), the speaker phone key is located at the bottom right of the keyboard--left of the enter key and has a $ sign and speaker phone sign on the key. Likewise, while on a call, you can click the trackwheel to enable the speakerphone.

I don't know of another location that would set the phone to speaker only.

I had a problem hitting the shortcut key for muting the phone when I first got my 8703e (when I would answer a call). I still am not entirely sure what the key is, but I am a little more carefull, and havent had a problem since.

Thanks for the insight. I've fooled with the speaker phone, but that didn't work. Does anyone have any idea what the short cut button for mute is, but I don't think that is the issue b/c I can't hear who I am talking to, but they can hear me. Is there a hands free mode b/c it only works when I have it on speaker phone or when I have my headset plugged in.

Thanks again fellas.

Well, I did find that the mute button is on the top (right side as you face the screen).
I understand now why I was hitting it while removing from case, and I wonder if that is what you are doing.
