Default AES, 3DES for Sprint? - 05-29-2007, 05:45 PM

Sprint advertises that they offer AES and 3DES security. How is this configured and activated?

If it isn't on my Blackberry, then what AES programs do you recommend?

Sorry for the newbie questions. I just got one and am not real familiar with any of the security that is offered.

You need to be utilizing a BES in order to have these features.

I would think that Sprint would have this on their server since they advertise it as a positive sales item.

My question is what is needed on my behalf, if anything? I just don't see anything or done anything on my end to setup any encryption on my blackberry.

Thanks for the responses.

3DES or AES encryption has nothing to do with the Blackberry service from Sprint. A BES sits behind a coporate fire wall and works inconjunction with the Email server.
You can utilize a hosted Email/BES service who probably offers it as well.
If you are only using POP Email you don't need the functionality anyway. There are much easier ways to hack a Yahoo, Gmail, etc account.
