Default Upgraded to 4.2, IM no longer works - 05-31-2007, 03:01 PM

I upgraded to 4.2, everything works except for IM. I get the following message on my 8700g.

"Blackberry_8700_4$2e1$2e10_i_TMO_4IM: Symbol 'UiApplication.pushModalGlobalScreen' not found."

Any help on how to fix this would be really appreciated.

The OZ Communications IM software will not work until T-Mobile provides a new version of the application to work with the 8700 and 4.2 software. To get around this, I found the link for the 8100 version of the OZ Communications IM software and upgraded. It works, but unfortunately it expects trackball input and I can only activate the first client which is the AIM client because the 8700 can't scroll sideways.

I figured it had something to do with that but everyone on this forum is talking about how their installs had no problems. Obviously for anyone with a device with no trackball device, their IM must not be working, correct? Is there another IM aggregrator software that would function as well as the OZ one?

I don't think many people use the OZ Messenger application because it uses SMS instead of data. There are some other good Messaging applications out there. JiveTalk, IM+, Google Talk, etc.
