Question Missing software cd, what now? - 06-01-2007, 12:53 PM

I just received my unlocked 8700r yesterday but the previous user may have forgotten to include any software cd's. Do I need this cd or can I just download the syncing software from RIM's website? I tried to locate it from rim.com and eventually after some pop up's to other websites, I located Desktop 4.2 with many links. Some without Media Manager, etc...

Is this all I need and which one do I need for my 8700r? I'm totally new to Blackberry's and tried to read as much before posting this question here. Since the CD's are missing I'm not sure if I'm out in the cold! Thanks.

That is all you need. Otherwise you are in good shape...

If you haven't downloaded yet...
Where do I download the latest version of Desktop Manager? - BlackBerryFAQ

You'll want version 4.2, Service Pakc 1 or 2. SP2 has the Media Manager in it, which you won't really need with the 8700.
