Do you mean THE USER sends an IM and THEY go to UNAVAILABLE?

Or

Do you mean WHO THEY send an IM to, the RECIEVER goes to UNAVAILABLE?

I too have had fluctuating availability on my end and my buddies end with both my 8703e and 8830. Just chalked it up to it being an unstable app.

Where are they seeing "unavailable"? If they are at main screen (where it shows contacts, conversations etc) what does THIER icon look like BEFORE sending message and then AFTER (it is the icon next to thier OWN name) be specific on colors. (FYI when setting to unavailable on purpose, it is a grayed out icon with a RED CIRCLE with a RED LINE THRU IT)

I use BB Messenger ALOT and I am not sure you can go to unavailable on your OWN phone without SETTING it to UNAVAILABLE from the MAIN SCREEN, CLICK WHEEL, select from menu.

I am curious what this is about?

Please advise.

FYI it is normal if I IM someone, and after a few minutes if they do not read it, THEY will go to unavailable.

This is a bug in BB messenger. It has had that problem for quite a while now. Usually, if you both turn wireless off and back on again, they will become available again. I've also got it to go back to available by sending a regular PIN message. These methods do not always work though.
