Default New user with one bit of help needed - 06-14-2007, 04:50 AM

I just got a 8700c from cingular for the crazy price of 25 bucks.. but im having a hell of a time adapting to all the blackberries faults... ringtones is a crime.

But what im trying to do now is get animated .gif files to work.. ive tried every which way to get them to work but the farthest i can get is seeing one frame...

Any help would be nice

I don't think the 8700 supports that. Keep in mind, the 8700 is a business tool first, not a consumer product.

Maybe OS 4.2 will support it, but I am not sure.

How about some specifics?

What do you mean by "ringtones is a crime" (sic)? You can load any MP3 you want as a ringtone as long as it's encoded at the right rate and isn't larger than the max allowed size.

no offense, but if you bought the 8700c for multimedia you are borderline retarded. it doesn't matter that it was only $25. Get a Pearl or a Curve or something. Doing multimedia on a 8700 will be like trying to achieve broadband speeds on a Pentium 1 machine

I dont mean to offend some of you guys.. i was getting very frustrated being new to the whole blackberry thing. I really love the device but im so inept when it comes to such a touchy technical device.

Again.. im not here to make enemies so i got off on the wrong foot.
