Default Firewall - 06-14-2007, 05:01 AM

Hi there, just upgraded from a 7100 to an 8700.

I've downloaded Google Maps & was intrigued to see that it supported GPS by bluetooth. So I paired the two items & then tried to locate myself.

Since then I repeatedly receive a firewall error message telling me that Google Maps has tried to access something and that it is against IT policy.

Have tried to disable firewall, but cannot.

Can anyone tell me how I gain control of the firewall settings in the hope that this will allow me to use Google Maps fully?

Thanks

Landman

The BB either is or was on BES and the company has an IT policy against doing whatever it is you are trying to do.

Did you buy the 8700 from someone else? If so you need to remove the IT policies. Do a quick search and you will find many threads on how to do this.

If you are currently on your company's BES, then there isn't much you can do since they make the policies on how the BB is used on their network. You might talk to the BES Admin to see if he can help though.
