Default setting screen saver on 8700c - 07-06-2007, 02:08 PM

I have an 8700c and I have a picture set as my desktop wallpaper. How do I set that to be my screen saver when I lock the device?

There is no screen saver on a BlackBerry

I know it is not a screen saver.

Ok let me rephrase that for those that want to be overly technical. The picture that I have as my desktop background on my Home Screen, I want to show that picture when I lock my device also - not the Theme picture that shows now. Is there a way to do this?

Please only post if you have information regarding this issue - not if you want to just tell me what the Blackberry does not have. If you have a Blackberry device you should know what I am talking about doing. Thank you.

I'm betting this post will probably be the last response you get to one of your
questions.....

Why? Because I ask a simple question and I get a response about how I am not asking the question in the correct format. Obviously the guy understands a Blackberry and also knows what I am trying to do.......so why not just answer the question by stating "you can't do that" or " here is how you do it".

I believe PerfectStorm has now answered both of your questions -- correctly.

EDIT--change themes, I guess.

Why don't you guys just buzz off and quit lurking in people's threads that are asking questions that you don't have an answer to and reply just to get your post count up and show your "technical expertise".

Now back to my original question. Is there a way to set the picture that I have on my Home Screen to be the same when I lock the device rather than having the Theme picture displayed?

Had to give you a little bit of a hard time. Mine actually does do this when I lock my phone. I have a custom wallpaper that shows on my home screen. When I lock the device I still see that wallpaper on my screen.

Now I am using an 8700g handheld device with the OS 4.2.1.96 for the BlackBerry. If you are using the OS that came with the phone, may v4.1.0, then this may not be possible. Look for the sticky at the top of the 8700 forums about upgrading the OS on the handheld.

Thanks Jeremyckitching. I appreciate the info. I am running the original OS and just noticed that there is a newer version available for the 8700c (AT&T). I will download that and install. Maybe that will fix my problem.

Well I don't guess that I am missing out on much since you never offered any help to start with.
