I remember last year when I use to be able to receive a picture from my friends razor. Now when they send a txt pic msg my phone doesn't receive anything anymore. I've asked cingular soo many times and they can't fix anything or get it to work anymore. I have an 8700c btw. Am I missing a setting somewhere or can you receive picture msgs?

I know that, first off, you have to have a data plan for the phone to be able to receive them. I don't have a data plan and just use my 8700R for phone and text and I cannot receive pics either. Secondly, if you have a data plan, ensure that MMS is enabled and you should be good to go.

as far as i know you can get mms on the 8700. but you do need the data plan to receive them. also if you are using BB Messenger you can send and receive pics in the program itself

I had ran into this problem before . . . my situation was sending/receiving MMS between 2 networks, a Motorola in Nextel's iDen and BB on Tmobile's GSM. . . no resolution came about of it and laid the matter to rest . . .

. . . am wondering if you have a similar situation now. . . was the situation different when you were able to get MMS/Picture msgs before?

BTW... am able to send/get MMS/Picture msgs on 8700g now.

ok, here's a BB setting that you may want to check as it affects receipt of MMS:

OPTIONS --> MMS -->
Multimedia Reception: set to "Always"
Automatic Retrieval: set to "Always"

Notifications . . . that can be set based on your own personal preference.

Message Filtering:
Rejecting Anonymous Messages may prevent delivery of messages from senders who are not in your address book. . . so you may opt to leave that box unchecked.

Reject Advertisements . . . I don't really know how this one works (or not).

I installed that new 4.2 os and I saw it had some mms svc book but I hated the 4.2 cuz it was soooo slow and my trackwheel was even working after I installed. Ended up downgrading back to 4.1.351 much more user friendly. Am I suppose to have a certain os to get mms to work on an 8700c???
