Default New 8700 User :) Email woes - 07-23-2007, 06:45 AM

Hey guys, I'm a new Blackberry convert, just purchased my BB from Ebay, in London.

I got a mac, and a PC, *actually, got 4 macs, and 7 PC's - it's a wonder it took me so long to get a blackberry*, and I would like to be able to sync my EMAIL to my blackberry.

I downloaded pocket mac, and it synced everything with no problems, everything excpet my email - I've been reading in places, that it's not possible to sync email, which is most annoying. I would love for someone to prove me wrong.

I don't want over the air email, I'm attached to the internet literally 24 hours a day - via bluetooth, or USB would do me just fine.

If there is anyway, I can connect to the net via USB or bluetooth on my BB, I'll be a very happy guy

MrGabby, you read right, you can't sync email.

BlackBerry Enterprise Service (BES) will come close to doing what you need, and BIS almost. But neither setup will sync mail and messages. They will do some sort of reconciliation of read/unread/deleted.

If you don't need email on the BB, then it is most likely not the device for you, since email is the strength of the BB.

AFAIK, you cannot connect to the Internet via Bluetooth. You can use the BB as a modem for a laptop if you have a tethering plan.

If I had BES installed on my exchange server, would I then be able to collect email on my handset? I do want to use it for email, but not via my SIM card - we don't have great data plans in the UK And it doesn't make sense if I'm constantly connected to the internet all the time at work anyway, I just need to be able to compose emails offline for when I'm traveling between sites, and have all my contacts in the same place etc.
