That means your device doesn't have an operating system. You can use the link in my signature to download a new OS for it. You'll also need Desktop Manager installed on a PC in order to install it.

Good luck.

You have to download install both the correct OS for your device and the latest version of Desktop Manager.

Connect your BB to your PC, start Destkop Manager, click on the Application Loader icon w/in the DM, and it should prompt you to install the OS.

oh, sorry, saw the 7130 in your signature and forgot we were talking about the 8700. I'm not sure if DM 4.1 will work for the 8700g. You can try it, but if it doesn't recognize your device when you connect it to your PC, then you'll need to upgrade.

Yes, double click the OS file on your PC to install it (just a few wizard screens). Then open DM and launch Application loader.

Go here: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...493f424209T R

Download v4.2 SP2, without Media Manager (won't need it for the 8700 and the file without it is MUCH smaller).

kristophe, yes the 8700 should charge when connected to a USB port on your computer to which Desktop Manager has been load.

You may need the latest Desktop Manager to charge the 8700.
