Default bluetooth phonebook transfer - 08-19-2007, 07:33 AM

I have a BB8703e with verizon and am trying to get the phonebook to transfer to my Pioneer AVIC-D3 dvd/navigation unit in my car. I have the BT handsfree working great but the phonebook will not transfer. Pioneer said it was the BB or the verizon service to blame and not the deck. When I told him that it transfered to my Garmin without incident he said "I don't know" and to "call back Monday and talk to one of our mobil guys".

Does anyone have any insight on this matter? It would be much appreciated!

I would at least like to know who to point my finger at.

That's interesting, I can't get my 8703e (VZW) to transfer the phonebook to my Garmin Nuvi 660. Either that, or it takes a really long time and I didn't wait long enough. Which Garmin are you using and how large is your phone book?

Default Garmin is finicky - 08-20-2007, 11:03 AM

I have a Nuvi 360 from Garmin and had to delete all groups in my address book to get my contacts to transfer. I also had to downgrade the BT firmware on my Nuvi to 3.4. The newest version caused problems.

Also, Garmin Nuvi 360 can only handle 200 contacts. Not sure about others.

Pioneer said today that unless my BB had the capability to actually do a manual send then I was SOL. I would be interested to know which if any BB's have this as a feature. Wish thier was at least some third party software to do the trick like on Windows Mobile.

Default Transfer contacts from BB8703e to Parrot Minikit - 01-17-2008, 08:33 AM

I just got a Parrot Minikit which paired well with my Verizon BB8703e but I can't transfer contacts to the Parrot via bluetooth. In my bluetooth options I have selected "all entries" for address book transfer but in my address book there is no option to actually send the contact(s) via bluetooth. Any suggestions?
