Default Gmail resending 2 weeks worth of emails - 09-10-2007, 02:53 PM

Hi

Every few weeks for the past few months, I will look at my BB and have hundreds of new messages. In actuality, they are resends from the past few weeks in order. I have my 8700 set up to POP my Gmail account (no forwarding enabled), and it's been working great. All the sudden, I'm getting this every so often. What's going on?

I tried searching, but couldn't come up with anything similar.

thanks- Sami

I'm having the exact same thing happen. It's happening about 4 times a day!

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Haven't had this issue yet my email has been coming up so far but I am going to subscribe to this thread just in case my email starts acting up

For some reason, this happened to me, too, recently. o_0 It happened a few days after I got back from a trip to Florida... I'm not sure why, though. I just cleared my inbox, and it hasn't happened since.

I have been having random deleting of messages from my handheld. I had some email from yesterday that I wanted to keep, but when I went to refer to one tonight, it was gone!
I tried deleting my account and re-adding it, and I'll see if that works.
I dont think the BIS problems are completely solved yet.

Ok....

Two different issues here. Old GMail messages being resent to the device is a known issue with GMail. Either delete messages or archive old messages and that will lessen the chance of having old messages sent. Do this on the GMail site.

@jbairdjr,
Messages deleting themselves off the device is a low memory issue. Check the FAQ's as there is lots of info on this problem there. Check the 8100 FAQ's too as there is a little more info there that also pertains to all the 4.2 devices.

Thanks John-

I just checked my memory, and it shows 0% free. I have no idea why, as I havent installed anything new.

I'm deleting unecessary stuff right now.

removing the battery is the first thing to do. Then delete stuff, then reboot it again. Good luck!

Same thing happened to me. I left my phone in my bedroom to charge, I come back and see 200 new emails and I'm stunned. It usually happens every 4-5 days with my 8700g. I don't think calling Tmobile would help, but it's definitely a BIS issue. Although it hasn't happened for 5 days now, so I think it is resolved by Tmobile.

Yes, it's a GMail/BIS issue. Doubtful it's been fixed already, but we we can hope so.

Hi all,

been experiencing the similar thing where old emails suddenly reappear again in BIS. Am using Outlook Web Access. Does it has to do if we happen to switch off the phone? Am using E61. Thanks.

Yep, that's been happening to me. Oddly enough, it only happens with ONE of the gmail accounts I have. The other 2 (one for work stuff, one for spam/signups that might be spamtastic) don't do that.

Oh, and mine's through AT&T/Cingular.

keep your Gmail inbox tidy. if you have dozens and dozens of old emails left in your inbox, you will have the mass email dump problem. i used to have those problems b/c i had pages and pages of emails in my inbox. organize the emails into labels and keep no more than 20 emails in your inbox. you won't have the problem anyone if you do that.

Can somebody please tell me how to deactivate my Gmail account from my Blackberry 8100? Seriously, this is the most frustrating thing imaginable. Every time I turn around I've got 200 emails piled up, and if I delete all of them, they immediately return. I don't want to have to constantly clean out my Gmail archives because for one, that defeats the entire purpose of Gmail's archives. I'd rather just not have email on my phone anymore. It's either that or I'm going to lose the phone out of my car window one day. And that would be a horrible thing.
