Default Need Help: Software for 8703e? - 09-11-2007, 05:49 PM

Just got an 8703e off ebay. Had it activated, everything works fine. except it didnt come with the software manager. It DID come with desktop manager.

I just need to know which version of the software manager I should use.

I heard the latest doesnt work with the 8703e because of roxio.

any help please?

You need Desktop Manager, there is not software manager.

Latest version you need is Version 4.2, Service Pack 2, without the Roxio software:

Good luck

1. Application Loader.
2. Backup and Restore.
3. Media Manager.
4. Switch Device Wizard.
5. Synchronize.

Media Manager will not work with the 87xx models unless the have 4.2 software on them.

There is no 4.2 OS for the 8703e. Media Manager will not work on the 8703e. That's why JSanders recommended the 4.2 SP2 Desktop manager without Media manager.

Yes, Desktop Manager without the Roxio software. You won't need songs/music on the BB, you don't have an extended memory on which to store such.

Add ringtones by visiting a website from your BlackBerry browser where the ringtone is located, and downloading it from there. Upon clicking on the ringtone file, your BlackBerry should download it and the audio player should open. Click to save. If there is a problem, the audio file format is either likely not supported on your device model, or could be too large an audio file.

Pictures, same as above from the browser, or email them to yourself.
