Default Upgrade: 7100g to 8700c - 09-13-2007, 05:13 PM

Greetings to everyone. First of all, thanks for all of the help I've gotten during the last year of lurking here. I got through one or two difficult spots with my 7100g just by searching for answers on this site.
Now to my question.

I am about to upgrade from my 7100 to the 8700c w/ATT. I do not use a data plan, I simply use the phone and the "pda" functions of myBB. I currently synch it up to Lotus Organzer and have for two years been problem free with all my synchs. Will I need to reinstall BB Desktop software when I begin to use the 8700 or can I simply go with the current set up and expect the new unit to synch?

If this question is already answered somewhere else I apologize for taking up space, I couldn't seem to come up with the right search query.

Thanks for any info.

Bill

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

What you have will probably be adequate. On the other hand, downloading and installing newer versions is no big deal, in my opinion. I think I'm using latest. I don't need media manager (or whatever it is), but I used it once to create a folder on the BB for bbtracker to use. See www.blackberryfaq.com.

Other's may have different opinions.
