Question Browser settings - 09-14-2007, 04:22 PM

Hello I am new to a BB I am coming from modmymoto (modding motos) I have a rizr z3 and just now a 8700c but i am using it on unicel in the northeast and I need somehow to get a "service book" in motos its called websessions and u can type everything in to get it working for the net and stuff, I am able to use the web on the BB via opera mini but when i want to DL something i need the default one and it says nothing is setup, I have entered my correct apn settings but i dont see a place for a proxy or ip addres and so I think i need a service book and then I can edit it and add my ip address for my carrier and then the BB browser will know that it is setup, or is there someway I can type this is that I have missed, although Ive been through like every menu and havent seen it, I updated the other day to 4.2.96 I belive with the BB updater, to sum all this up I just need a way to enter my info for the wap for the default browser other then the apn because I already have that and opera mini works but the default one does not and i need that to DL stuff from websites, help plz?
EDIT* also I went to the att/BB site thing where u type your pin and imei and then u can setup stuff, well i type it in and it says the pim already has an account but the person before me said they didnt and cancled anything to do with BB service(s) but it still wont help and att wont help either, is there somehow a website to send myself a service book to a non-att phone and then i can edit the info to fit my needed settings?

There is no way to get any service books through Unicel. Unicel does not have Blackberry plans so you will never get the OEM broswer. You are stuck with the Opera mini broswer.

Default 8830 Browser Issues - 09-14-2007, 05:18 PM

I use a web-based e-mail program because I work out of several locations and travel and need to have the same folders/mails, etc... at all locations.
The 8830 Browser does not allow me to access this. Does anyone know of an alternative browser that would work with the 8830 and resolve the problem? Tech support says that the 8830 browser doesn't allow what I want to do?

I believe the only other option is Opera Mini, but you would have to configure the APN settings in the BlackBerry. However, if Unicel doesn't have any APN settings you won't be able to use Opera Mini either: What are the TCP and APN settings? - BlackBerryFAQ

Mrlancer,
Opera Mini is another browser you can use on your BB.
