Default BIS with 8700g - 09-15-2007, 10:05 AM

Hi Gang,
I finally received my unlocked 8700g that a purchased from a large electronics reseller. I have added a data plan to my AT&T account, but when I attempt to register for the BIS, the system indicated that the PIN/IMEI were registered with another carrier. I think these phones were returns to O2 which I think is in the UK. Am I toast or can anyone point me in the right direction? I did skim the forums and found no clear answer. Any help would be most excellent!

Thanks

Jason

You need to call the other carrier and have them release the PIN/IMEI from their system.

You should first contact the seller and have them fix the problem. If they refuse, ask for a refund.

You could contact the old carrier, but you would need proof of purchase before they will do anything, if they can. You may have to escalate to RIM.

If the phone has been reported as lost or stolen, then you are SOL.
