My 8703e (Sprint) was powering down due to low battery when
I plugged in the AC adapted recharger. This got the unit stuck
in the following condition:
User message about shutting down due to low battery stayed on display.
Battery became fully charged.
Radio was off.
Clock kept moving to correct time.
No button could change any of the above or either clear the message,
shut down the unit, or perform any function. The phone was stuck in
this condition.
In the 47 minutes I was on hold with Sprint *2, I signed up for this forum,
searched for rebooting, learned how to take out the battery, took out the
battery for 30 seconds, replaced, rebooted, and all is fine and no data was
lost.
