Question Couple Of Outlook Questions For 8703e (Sprint) - 10-09-2007, 03:50 PM

Just got my Blackberry and I am having a few issues as well as have a few questions.

When I try to add my contacts from Outlook to the BB the Browse button is dark, meaning I cannot select anything.

Also is there a way possible to have my E-Mails download to Outlook without going to my Blackberry unless Outlook is closed?

Or if it does goto my Blackberry and I respond it will show that it was responded to in Outlook?

Possible to not have HTML E-Mails or E-Mail blasts sent to my BB?

I run a business and I am the only person, so my next question as far as BES, would I have to contact my website hosts to see if that can be done?

* not sure which browse button you are talking about when i open my contacts i dont have a browse button

Also is there a way possible to have my E-Mails download to Outlook without going to my Blackberry unless Outlook is closed?

*depends on your method of delivery if you are using the desktop redirector then just close it while you are using outlook, if you are using BIS i dont think so, if you are using BES there may be a policy for that but i have never tried it.

Or if it does go to my Blackberry and I respond it will show that it was responded to in Outlook?

*if you are using BES then yes it will show it was responded to, i dont use redirector so i am not sure if that will do it as well

Possible to not have HTML E-Mails or E-Mail blasts sent to my BB?

*possibly a policy for this in BES not possible in BIS or redirector

I run a business and I am the only person, so my next question as far as BES, would I have to contact my website hosts to see if that can be done?

*nope you would have to host your own emails on a mail server BES will not work if you are not hosting your own emails.

i could be wrong on some of this so hopefully more will respond hope this helps a little
I have been running a BES server for about 2 months now and so far everything has been great this is definitely the way to go if its possible for you but with only one person it may not be worth all the trouble. hope this helps

Yeah the first question I just updated to the latest version of Desktop Manager. Thanks for the other answers.

Question 10-12-2007, 09:20 PM

Everytime I hook my Blackberry up to the pc with Desktop Manager, my contacts are deleted. Why is that?
