Default Another LCD question - 10-11-2007, 10:04 AM

I have a 8700c that I got new from work about a month ago. I have it all set up and most of the time I get notifications of emails and calls. However, sometimes it doesn't vibrate when I get an email and the notification light remains flashing green. This has already caused me to miss important, time-sensitive emails.

Also, should it continue to flash red until I read the message or after a certain amount of time is it supposed to go back to green (even if I have not looked at the alert)?

I've checked all the settings and just can't figure out why it's doing this. It's driving me nuts.

The flashing red new message alert will only flash red for about 15 minutes after the new message arrives, the revert to green if you have the signal indicator on.

As to why your calls and messages sometimes don't alert you, it's hard to say. That is odd. First you might try without the vibrate and see if that gets calls and messages alerted to you. I would pull the battery while the BB is powered on, and reboot the BB. If it continues, you need to get another BB.

are you using it in a holster? the BB can be set to notify differently while in the holster than when it is not, you may want to check the profile settings to make sure it is not set to silent or off while in the holster.

Thanks for the responses. I have the settings the same for in and out of the holster. Also, it works sometimes and doesn't work other. I pulled the battery earlier today and will see if that helps.

I'm open to other ideas as well!
