Default How Do You Put PAUSE Character in Dial String ? - 10-12-2007, 05:40 PM

I'm trying to put a dialing string together to access a home voice mail....which needs some pauses. On other cell phones you hold down the # key for awhile and it turns into a small "p" which is a 6 second pause. I've tried this on the 8700 and no luck. How do I do this ?

Thanks.

when typing the dial string, click the trackwheel to INSERT PAUSE or INSERT WAIT.

That should do it.

Good luck.

You can also type an "n" for a pause or a "b" for a wait while dialing or creating an address book entry.

you don't actually type a letter "n", but the "N" key equates to a comma when in NUM mode, which will provide you with a 2-second pause for each comma you use... similar to an ASCII string.

I'm completely new to this and I'm trying to prepare my Outlook entries before I import this to my 8320. Excuse me if this is a dumb question...

By "NUM" mode, do you mean, "Num Lock" on the keyboard?

Is there any specific key that should be entered? Or just commas ","?

Any info is much appreciated.

In Outlook, enter a comma for a pause or an exclamation point for a wait.
