Default setting out of office reply - 10-14-2007, 07:03 AM

Hi - I am self-employed and using an 8700 -- no big firm, no network. Can I set an out-of-office reply that will automatically shoot off a reply to those who send me email indicating that I am away and currently unable to read/reply to their msg? If so, how do I do this? Thanks for info.

What email service provider are you using on your blackberry??? Yahoo, Hotmail, your ISP, etc? If you are using one of the free web email providers like yahoo, you can set your vacation message settings by logging into their websites and going into the options or preference areas.

Hi Wingrider - I have 2 email addresses: a yahoo account where I can set out of office reply no problem; and a blackberry address thru t-mobile. (Also have DSL at home thru Verizon -- but never use the Verizon email.) The blackberry is where I receive most of my work emails and the bb seems to have no mechanism to independently set out of office reply. (Does it???) That's what I'm looking for.

It does, but only for BES (which is settable from the device within the Messages application Options (under Email Settings)).
