Default Bluetooth Sound for Media - 10-16-2007, 09:40 AM

I'm not sure if I am missing a setting or something. I checked the threads and did not notice anyone having this issue.

I use a Aliph Jawbone headset with my 8830. (BTW, is by far the best Bluetooth headset I have ever had). I recently signed up for one of those services that send you your voice mail via a WAV file. The problem is that when the headset is connected, when going into the Media player the sound comes through the devices speakers and not the headset! Very Annoying! The menu on the media player has an option called "Activate Handset" which would seem to indicate that it is recognizing the headset connection.

Any suggestions?

I am having the same issue using a Plantronics 510. I can't play .wav files or any music that I have downloaded.

Default Activate Handset - 10-17-2007, 11:21 PM

actually just makes the sound come out of the earpiece on the phone, I am not sure about sending media player audio through the bluetooth headset.

You have to be on the latest OS to have these capabilities. .66 release of the VZW OS for the 8830 did not have this ability.

your headset might not be compadible, in the bluetooth settings what does it way? i have a pair of logitech headphones that i was able to connect, and in the services it says; "remote controller" & " Audio sink"

when im listing to music i can click the bb button and there is an option to activate BT headset. and when it connects it shows: "sterio audio" & "av controll"

It lists only "Headset" as a service. Does that mean only phone calls and no audio?
