Default speed dial tone - 10-20-2007, 01:23 PM

On my new 8820, when I use speed dial to dial a phone number (e.g., hold down 2) it makes a sound before it calls. Probably to notify you that a call has been placed, to prevent accidental dialing.

The tone it plays would be a cool notifier, but I can't find it on the device.
Anyone know where it's located?

I think you are hearing the DTMF tones used to call the number. Like on the 8300, the 8820 now plays these DTMF sounds over the speaker. It is not ment to be a "cool notifier", they are the touch tone sounds used by all phone to dial the number.

It's in the "phone only" profile...I can't see how to get that in any other profile though.

The only profiles where I don't get it are vibrate and quiet.

This matter is discussed here about every 4-5 days, I don't know how, but I don't get it in ANY profile.

It's a 4.2.2 thing.
