Default Bose Headphone Problems for 8830 - 10-20-2007, 03:16 PM

I have a set of the Bose Noise Canceling headphones. I purchased a stereo adapter to reduce the jack size and I cant get any sound to come through them it still plays from the 8830 speaker? Any one have an answer to this one. I am leaving for the UK on Friday and would love to watch a few movies in peace on the plane.

Thanks all.

Seidioonline.com. They make a connector designed specifically for the 8830 (8800/Pearl). These work well (I have two), other connectors (Radio Shack etc) do not seem to work at all or only provide mono sound or sound in one ear.

Thanks for that info. I just am not going to be able to get it to my house in time for my trip on Friday. I am going to have to take the one I bought back to Radio Shack and keep looking. It would really stink if I was not able to use the new Media player on this trip.

Still dont understand why the Radio Shack model does not work?

Can't get it to your house by Friday? Why is that?

I experienced this first hand today. I ripped two movies and was stoked on being able to watch my movies on the plane. I had a treo 700wx and purchased the Seidio adapter for it. When I plugged in that same adapter today with the headphones I got nothing. I was able to pull the plug halfway out (headphones going in to the seidio adapter) and then I got sound. Not your ideal solution but this may have worked with the radio shack plug. It might get you by for your tip but you might only get one speaker too. I guess its your call.

Default headphones adapter - 10-22-2007, 04:14 PM

A regular adapter won't work. I found that out last week. You have to have a special adapter. I got one from Verizon, my provider. I also got one on e-Bay, a Seidio. Like you I am leaving for overseas next week and wanted to use my BB as a music player. I have 2 adapters now. If you want my extra one I will sell it to you for what I paid for it ($13.50) plus shipping. Let me know ASAP. My e-mail is [email address].
